Hello Sadness, Track by Track

posted November 28th,2011 by Gareth

Without saying too much, I am currently working on a reasonably extensive Track by Track guide to our recently released album Hello Sadness.

Subsequently, I am interested in answering any (/some) specific questions any of you may have about specific song lyrics/details of songs/musical or instrumental or recording intricacies etc.

If there is anything particularly that you are intrigued by/interested in, then please fire questions at

New issue (finally) shipping late this/early next week.
Please, if you have changed address since your subscription, email new postage details to

askheatrash@gmail.com

If you do not inform us of any change and an issue is sent to the wrong address then we are not culpable if you never receive your copy, as we have limited quantities of the ‘zine. I trust you understand.

Thank you for your patience with this. Issue #3 will be a lot quicker in coming.

Heat Rash #2

posted November 2nd,2011 by Gareth

It’s been a while in the making, as well you know, but finally, Heat Rash #2, entitled ‘Conversations‘ is imminent.

This edition’s coverstar is Neil Campesinos! illustrated beautifully, as ever, by our man Rob ‘Sparky Deathcap’ Campesinos!.

We’d like to think the content of this issue is a lot more ‘meaty’ than the first. It’s a good’n.

Accompanied by a 7″, the artwork and tracklisting is as follows:

1. Dreams Don’t Become You
A collaboration between Tom Campesinos! and Zac Pennington of Parenthetical Girls.
2. I Love You (But You’re Boring)
A cover of Gareth’s favourite song by his favourite band, The Beautiful South (featuring backing vocals from Gareth and Kim’s Dad).

Thanks for your patience on this (most of you, couple little bitches but yanno). We’ve had a much busier year than we anticipated, but as promised, every subscriber will (obviously) receive four issues. It’ll just take us a little longer than anticipated.

Now, if you don’t mind, we’re just away to finish packaging the last of your Hello Sadness pre-orders…

HELLO SADNESS : NEW ALBUM : 14TH NOVEMBER 2011

posted August 31st,2011 by LC!

Conceived in Girona, Spain earlier this year, under the watchful eye of producer John Goodmanson, Hello Sadness is ten songs of love, loss and heartbreak nail-gunned to a back-drop of broken, tangled bodies, creeping, dead-eyed animals, suffocating, looming shadows and World Cup exits. It is an honest, bare bones documentation of breaking up and trying not to break up in the process.
