Off To Spain

To Whom It May Concern,

The musical group “Los Campesinos!” would like to formally request a leave of absence from the normal routine of their everyday lives to go and record a new album in Spain. They feel Spain is the most appropriate and logical backdrop for this new full-length recording as it allows them to immerse themselves in the culture of their collective name, plus Wales is really rainy at the moment.

They wish to record for the entirety of April, and therefore will regretfully be unable to take part in the everyday routines that make up their current existence in the UK, including and not exclusive to

  • Small talk with the staff of Tesco’s/local coffee house/people waiting for a bus.
  • Their regular yoga classes/football training/zumba classes.
  • Absent minded sashays into Cardiff/Bath city centre.
  • Blankly staring into space wondering where they parked their car.

To compensate for this disruption in the natural flow of life they have requested some of their friends and family carry on with these activities in their absence but they hope to keep some regular routines going, so life in part can carry out as normal.  For example Tom will be bringing a box of Oatibix with him for a consistent breakfast experience, I have five books I never intend to read and at regular intervals someone will make a comment on the weather.

Los Campesinos! would like to stress that although Spain is a land of Sangria, cerveza and Sun they will be in the country to produce a musical album, and their main aim is to return to the UK with something really bloody good for their fans to hear. They hope this leave of absence does not bring the cities of Bath and Cardiff to too much of a grinding halt and the end result is something everyone in the world adores enough for them to give up their side line in petty crime.

Thank you for your time

Ellen Campesinos! on behalf of Los Campesinos!

Overall…I think it’s a fair request. Get your tickets and sunglasses and think of words that rhyme with Mediterranean.

I’m taking Andrew Collins’ lead and just shouting 1 word responses to every bit of information either imparted onto me or that I care to present to the world. In this case.

ALBUM.

PS
Adam & Joe suck, coming back as a lame disguise to promote a film. Bring back Andrew Collins.
